SECURITY: GOVERNOR SHERIFF, WALKING THE TALK

The Integrity Group of Delta State (The Renewed Hope, MORE Agenda, and You Matter Charity Foundation Ambassadors) has commended His Excellency, Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, for his prompt and decisive response to pressing security concerns across the state.
The group particularly applauded the governor’s recent directive to all Local Government Executive Chairmen, urging them to work hand-in-hand with Traditional Rulers in their respective domains to address security challenges proactively. The governor’s message, described by the group as a “reading of the riot act,” serves as a strong warning that security must not be taken lightly at any level of governance.
Governor Sheriff emphasized the need for regular security meetings across the Local Government Areas, stating that such meetings should not be held at the convenience of council authorities alone, especially since adequate funds are allocated for this purpose. He charged the Executive Chairmen to remember that once they leave office, they will return to being ordinary citizens, and should therefore remain humble, accessible, and collaborative in their approach to governance.
“Traditional rulers must be carried along in all Local deliberations,” the governor insisted, “because security is everybody’s responsibility, and Traditional institutions remain key stakeholders in ensuring peace and order at the grassroots.”
The Integrity Group lauded this directive as being firm in line with the core pillars of the M.O.R.E Agenda, Which the E stands for Enhance Peace and Security. “Governor Sheriff is not just talking the talk, he is walking the talk. His actions reflect a true commitment to the safety and well-being of all Deltans,” the group declared.
As such, the group is calling on all Deltans to rally around Governor Oborevwori and lend their full support to the Renewed Hope for the M.O.R.E Agenda. They stressed that collective responsibility and citizen participation remain the bedrock of a safer and more prosperous Delta State.
