STUDENT INTEGRITY GROUP OF DELTA STATE APPLAUDS GOVERNOR SHERIFF OBOREVWORI ON TWO YEARS OF EXEMPLARY LEADERSHIP

The Student Integrity Group of Delta State (The More Agenda And You Matter Charity Foundation Ambassadors), a body of vibrant student leaders committed to fostering transparency, accountability, and good governance, congratulates His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, Governor of Delta State, on the momentous occasion of his second anniversary in office.

We commend Governor Oborevwori for his visionary leadership and outstanding implementation of the M.O.R.E Agenda: Meaningful Development, Opportunities for All, Realistic Reforms, and Enhanced Peace and Security. In just two years, the Governor has set a new standard for transformational governance, delivering impactful projects that have touched lives across the state’s 25 Local Government Areas.

Under his administration, Delta State has witnessed significant growth in key sectors. Notably, over 513 road projects covering more than 1,300 kilometers, alongside 950 kilometers of drainage infrastructure, have been executed. These efforts have enhanced interconnectivity, reduced urban congestion, and catalyzed economic activities in both urban and rural communities.

Governor Oborevwori’s commitment to continuity is evident in the completion of inherited projects, such as the Delta State High Court Complex and the Emevor-Orogun Road (Phase 1), while new projects continue to spring up, reflecting a governance style rooted in accountability, inclusion, and excellence.

In the area of human capital development, the Governor has expanded the D-CARES programme to reach over 280,000 beneficiaries, while initiatives like the MORE Grant Scheme, MORE Biz-Up, and the Women Empowerment Skill Acquisition Programme (WESAP) have uplifted youths, women, and persons with disabilities, ensuring that no one is left behind.

We also acknowledge the Governor’s bold innovations in the energy and transportation sectors. The introduction of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG)-powered buses and the establishment of CNG conversion plants align with Nigeria’s clean energy transition, while easing transportation costs and creating employment opportunities for our teeming youths.

On the security front, the Governor’s proactive steps to resolve communal disputes and foster peace have helped consolidate social harmony and stability across the state.

The Student Integrity Group draws inspiration from Governor Oborevwori’s integrity and prudent resource management. His recognition as the 2024 Integrity Man of the Year and ThisDay Newspaper’s Governor of the Year 2024 are well-deserved. We particularly celebrate his principled leadership, evidenced by his refund of over ₦500 million to the state treasury during his tenure as Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, a rare gesture that speaks volumes about his character.

As students and emerging leaders, we are proud to identify with a leader whose governance style reflects our aspirations: a Delta State where transparency thrives, opportunities abound, and every citizen has a voice.

We reaffirm our unwavering support for Governor Oborevwori’s administration and urge all Deltans, especially the youth, to remain united, peaceful, and actively engaged in the pursuit of a greater Delta.
